New Release
Viognier is sometimes referred to as “the red drinker’s white” because of the weight and grip on the palate.
Opulent is the word often used for fine Viognier – and although the variety is generally fermented dry, the strong fruit and oily quality of the grape fools many a wine drinker into thinking is has a whack of residual sugar.
Neudorf Moutere Viognier is a walk through a tropical garden at night – brushing past heavy, fragrant blooms and noting musky, spicy notes with hints of ginger and lemon.
This the first Viognier Neudorf has produced and we are delighted at the result. Dry, but sensual and delicious.
The nose is highly perfumed with hints of watercracker, white fleshed nectarine and wild spice.
On the palate it is voluptuous but concentrated with bold fruit flavours. The finish is persistent and refreshing.
A wine for pleasurable sipping on its own but totally at home with many of the foods you may normally match with a rich Chardonnay.
Technical

The juice was tank fermented for 77 days and lees aged with some stirring. Malo lactic fermentation occurred spontaneously during primary fermentation.
