The wine starts with lime blossom, moves through freshly-cut spring herb to a succulent squeezing finish.

The start of the palate is surprisingly full but a lovely controlled dollop of refreshing acid keeps the wine in check leaving an impression of full fruit and flowers. Waxy magnolias and orange bloom underpinned by crushed shell.

Structurally the wine has the perfect combination of ripe fruits and taut pithy, textural notes. Immaculate tapering finish leaves the impression of a wine which understands where it is headed. It traverses the palate with precision and purpose similar to that of a squeeze of lemon over a fat grilled scallop. This purity of expression is unencumbered by overt sweetness or oak.

Neudorf Moutere Riesling Dry has quickly developed a reputation for clarity and cellaring potential.

    Neudorf Moutere Riesling Dry 2016

Neudorf Moutere Riesling Dry 2016 - "A notably cool year. Very pure and crystalline. Tastes bone dry despite its analytical 8 g/l RA. Acid is 8.3 g/l and pH just 2.9 on average. 20% went into old oak. Spontaneous fermentation. An array of extremely pure, recognisably correct Riesling aromas. Should age well but already giving well balanced pleasure. 17 Points."

Neudorf Moutere Riesling Dry 2016 - “Pure, poised riesling with oyster shell, mineral, lime and wild flower flavours, Lovely purity and an ethereal texture. Knife-edged acidity is balanced by just enough sweetness to create a little tension while promoting a drying and lengthy finish. 95 Points.”

Neudorf Moutere Riesling Dry 2016 - "Intense aromas of wild flowers and honeysuckle set against a backdrop of apple and kaffir lime; a hint of spice and a whisper of ginger. On the palate - crisp and dry with an immediate tension, a pause, then a flourish of flavours that reflect the nose. Long finish, a keeper for sure - this wine is set to mature for a decade at least. Well crafted example. 94 Points."

Neudorf Moutere Riesling Dry 2016 - "Full straw-yellow colour with pale lemon-gold hues, lighter on the edge. The nose is elegantly concentrated and intense with penetrating aromas of lime fruit entwined with hints of toast and suggestions of honeysuckle, along with thirst-quenching mineral detail. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate has a soft and rounded core with concentrated lime fruit and an amalgam of florals, honeysuckle and toast, unveiling mineral nuances. The palate is underlined by refined phenolic textures providing good linearity, and integrated acidity giving positive drive. The wine carries to a gentle, lingering finish. This is a softly concentrated dry Riesling with a rounded core of lime, floral and subtle toasty notes, on a fine, linear palate. Serve as an aperitif or with Asian fare over the next 4-5 years. 18.5/20. 5 Stars."
